The course introduces the amazing world of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence without requiring previous background in the field.
Robotics is the science of direct realization of Artificial Intelligent in real world applications where advanced autonomy levels are needed to perform tasks without human supervision. As such, the course will act as the fundamental introduction to the concepts of robotic principles like: perception, cognition, intelligence, path planning, path tracking, autonomous task execution, localization, sensing and actuating. The course will introduce basic hardware for the development of robotic platforms such as drones, mobile robots and robotic arms, while it will also provide an introduction to programming tools for Robotics and AI such as Python, the physics based simulation environment Gazebo and the Robotic Operating System (ROS).
The ”Robotics for all” is a course that aims to build the fundamental background in understanding the world of robots for all the new students, even if they will not follow this specialization, while providing direct recommendations for further studying and emphasizing the magnificent world of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The course will be provided as a set of multiple and short length online lectures, combined with live discussion sessions and remote virtual labs; it is recommended for all students that love technology and are curious in the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
