The course provides basic knowledge of fire dynamic phenomena of importance for the dimensioning of fire protection.
The aim of the course is for the student to be able to describe fire development, especially in room fires. The student will also be able to calculate heat release rates during fires, flame heights, and flows as well as temperatures in fire plumes. The course also covers heat transfer and temperature development in room fires.
