The aim of the course is to help students develop knowledge in the rock blasting process; from the detonation to environmental aspects.

Blasting is the controlled use of explosives to break rock for excavation. Blasting plays an important role in modern life. Buildings, cars and electronic devices, for example, include raw materials that are extracted by blasting. It is the most cost-effective way to extract ore from medium and hard rock formations. Blasting is not only used for mining purposes but also in special cases such as demolition or tunnel excavation.
