Love film and visual effects (VFX)? Compositing is the art of creating believable film effects by layering live-action footage with CGI, matte paintings, and other elements to create imagery that otherwise would be impossible.
Compositing is the cornerstone skill of all VFX production for film. This course teaches the essential techniques in Foundry's Nuke, the node-based software used in most major film post-production projects. While designed for beginners, this course will also be useful to those with some experience in layer-based workflows seeking to transition to more advanced tools. We combine a solid theoretical understanding with practical training on core compositing concepts, from masking, tracking and keying to color correction and integration.
By the end, you will understand the tools and methods used by VFX artists in film production and leave with a foundational portfolio of work, and a good base from which to explore more advanced VFX challenges.
