Exchange students are provided with housing assistance. Only ISEP programme students are guaranteed accommodation as per the ISEP rules. All of the housing options we offer are within a 10 minute walk to Campus in Luleå and Piteå. In Skellefteå, Skebo housing is also located close to Campus. The responsible Department in Kiruna helps the students to find accommodation where it is possible.
No, not for the majority of exchange students, since you will only be studying a number of single courses and not a complete study programme. Students coming from partner universities where LTU has signed double degree agreements are, however, able to get a degree at LTU.

EU/EEA citizens have the right to work in Sweden without a work and residence permit. As a non EU/EEA citizen you have the right to work as long as you have your student visa.
However, it can be difficult to find a job, knowledge of the Swedish language is essential. Also, you should concentrate on your courses and student life.
No, but you can obtain a tourist visa if you wish to travel around Sweden and see more of the country.
For Campus Luleå: preferably during Arrival Week, but it is mandatory presence from Orientation week. Remember to fill in the Arrival Form, to notify ESN Luleå of your arrival plans well in advance, and try to arrive on a weekday during office hours.
For Campus Skellefteå/Piteå/Kiruna: arrival one week before course start is advisable.
