Thank you for your interest in our International Orchestra Academy! This page contains important information about the application process, including answers to the most frequently asked questions by applicants.
Important deadlines
Application is now open for the 2025-2026 Academic year.
January 15, 2025: Application deadline at universityadmissions.se External link, opens in new window.
Deadline for submitting recordings for the first Admission test will be published in December.
February 3, 2025: Deadline for receipt of application fee or documenting exemption from payment.
February 3, 2025: Deadline for receipt of supporting documentation.
Please note that your application may be disqualified if you fail to pay your application fee/prove exemption; if you fail to submit your application to universityadmissions.se; or if you fail to correctly submit your supporting documentation to universityadmissions.se.

3. Second admission test for applicants whose first admission test is approved. Approved applicants will be informed individually.

Your application to Universityadmissions.se is complete only when it includes the application itself, payment of application fee or proof of exemption, and proof of fulfilment of eligibility requirements.

Documenting eligibility for studies
After submitting the electronic application, you must then submit documentation to prove you meet the entry requirements.
Entry requirements
- Bachelor of Arts in music or equivalent
- Two approved admission tests
Basic knowledge of English is recommended, but the course is exempted from the English level requirements, so applicants are not required to submit any proof of English language level.

Application fees and tuition fees
Applicants must have either paid the application fee or proved exemption. External link, opens in new window. through EU/EEA citizenship by February 3, 2025.
The application fee is 900 SEK, payable to universityadmissions.se. External link, opens in new window.
Tuition fee for the entire course: 238 000 SEK, payable to Luleå University of Technology.
Documenting your citizenship
Applicants with citizenship in countries within the EU/EEA or Switzerland must provide proof of citizenship. External link, opens in new window.
Applicants with citizenship in countries not within the EU/EEA or Switzerland must pay first the application fee. External link, opens in new window. and then tuition fees for university studies in Sweden.
Your application will not be processed until you have paid the application fee or proved exemption due to citizenship within the EU/EEA or Switzerland.

- A scan of your passport
- Your bachelor degree diploma in its original language
- Your bachelor degree diploma translated to English or Swedish unless already issued in English/Swedish/Norwegian/Danish/French/German
- The transcripts of records of your bachelor’s degree in its original language. This is a list of all the courses, credits and grades that made up your bachelor’s degree.
- Your transcripts of records translated to English or Swedish unless already issued in English/Swedish/Norwegian/Danish.
- Payment of your application fee or proof of exemption from fee-payment.
Additional requirements:
- You must supply proof of your bachelor's degree. Master's degree diplomas are NOT accepted as proof of bachelor's degree.
- All documents must be scanned in color and each page must be signed/stamped by the issuing university.
- All translations must be done by a recognized translator, i.e. a person who works professionally as a translator. The document must be stamped and signed by the translator and the name of the translator must be legible. There may be different requirements for different countries, so refer to universityadmissions.se for country-specific instructions. External link, opens in new window.
- If your degree was awarded in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, or the USA, your official transcript must be sent directly from your university.
- If your degree was awarded in Italy: If you have completed academic qualifications from a conservatory and received a Diploma di Conservatorio, you need to submit your diploma and transcripts both in the original language and in translation, along with your diploma from upper secondary school, Esame di stato/Maturita. Accepted languages for translations are Swedish or English.
