Apply

• Universityadmissions.se
  You submit your application via universityadmissions.se. The final date for applications is 15 January 2026.

Portfolio

The work sample should provide a comprehensive view of your artistic profile. Audio or audio/video files should preferably be provided as YouTube links. We do not accept downloadable links, such as those from "yousendit.com."

• Three original compositions as scores in PDF format.
• Recordings, either live performances or synthetic renderings, of the submitted compositions.
• A brief reflection, one A4 page, on the pieces and their sources of inspiration
• A brief description, one A4 page, of the applicant's musical background, any desired area of specialization, future plans, and other relevant factors that the applicant wishes to highlight for the application.

You must submit samples and statement by Sunday, March 8, 2026, either via e-mail to antagningsprovMUKOM@mailbox.ltu.se or by mail to Luleå University of Technology in Piteå, Box 744, 941 63 Piteå. Mark the envelope with Master Composition.

Interview

After your work portfolio has been reviewed, a personal interview follows. The interview is conducted via Skype or Zoom.

We are looking for applicants who not only possess strong skills but also demonstrate awareness, reflection, and independence in their artistic practice.

During the interview, it is an advantage if you can describe a possible focus for your degree project. Since there is no set model for the degree project, it is favourable if the applicant is particularly passionate about a specific topic and has an awareness of both the subject to be explored, as well as the goals to be achieved.
