The University seeks applicants who demonstrate cognisance, introspection, and self-sufficiency in their artistry, in addition to high-level musical competence.
Important dates
- Apply via universityadmission.se no later than 15 January 2026.
- Portfolio: submit no later than 8 March 2026.

You submit your application via universityadmissions.se. The final date for applications is 15 January 2026.
Portfolio
Your portfolio should consist of:
- Three original compositions as scores in PDF format.
- Recordings, either live performances or synthetic renderings, of the submitted compositions.
- A reflection, one A4 page, on the pieces and their sources of inspiration.
- A description, one A4 page, of the applicant's musical background, any desired area of specialization, future plans, and other relevant factors that the applicant wishes to highlight for the application.
The work sample should provide a comprehensive view of your artistic profile. Audio or audio/video files should preferably be provided as YouTube links. We do not accept downloadable links, such as those from "yousendit.com."
Submit work samples and statement no later than Sunday, March 8, 2026. Applicants must submit the following by Sunday, March 8, 2026, either via email to antagningsprovMUKOM@mailbox.ltu.se or by mail to Luleå University of Technology in Piteå, Box 744, 941 63 Piteå. Mark the envelope with "Master Composition."
Interview
A personal interview based on the portfolio will be conducted via video meeting after the portfolio has been reviewed.
