Scholarships and funding
Luleå University of Technology offers a limited number of scholarships for international master’s students. Current master’s students may be considered for a tuition fee waiver in their second year, either partial or full, depending on academic performance and merit. Eligible students are contacted directly by the programme coordinator in early May, with decisions announced in June.
In addition, the Swedish Institute (SI) provides scholarships for Global Professionals from certain countries. These scholarships apply broadly to master’s studies in Sweden and cover both tuition fees and, in some cases, living expenses. No matter if you are admitted as a campus or distance student, this is not a self-study or self-paced programme. All teaching and scheduled activities take place during the daytime, and the workload corresponds to around 40 hours per week. Your studies should therefore be regarded as a full-time daytime commitment. We do not recommend combining work and study, as it will make it very difficult to successfully complete the programme.
