The future campus in Luleå
The campus in Luleå will be developed to meet the university's need for premises for education and research.
Two new university buildings for laboratories, offices and teaching will be built on the plots where the D-house and F-house are currently located. Where the E-house is today, a park or similar green area will be created that can also serve as reserve land for Luleå University of Technology's future needs.

Letter of intent with Akademiska Hus
At the end of November, Luleå University of Technology and Akademiska Hus signed a letter of intent regarding the plans for the future campus in Luleå.
The starting point for the letter of intent is that the investments in new buildings should strengthen the business and result in a modern and future-proof environment for lab operations, studies and offices. The ambition is that the transformation of the campus should have as low a carbon footprint as possible, while the new buildings will have a shape and design that meets today's requirements and will also last well into the future.
What happens in the spring
The first step is to develop a goal and vision document together with Akademiska Hus.
During the spring, the work will continue to include the development of a preliminary study, a time schedule and a facility program. This means determining the areas needed for each respective activity. Representatives for our learning environments, laboratory spaces, staff areas and social spaces are involved in the work to ensure attractive and functional premises.
Existing offices, labs and teaching premises on the Luleå campus will continue to be used as today until further notice.
Project management
The work is run in project form. The main project manager is Pernilla Hellberg, consultant at Forsen and a former Projekt manager at Luleå University of Technology. The management will also be supported by the experienced consultant Lennart Ilke.
