Luleå University of Technology and RISE strengthen their collaboration
Luleå University of Technology and the research institute RISE have signed a three-year collaboration agreement. The partnership includes research, education and innovation.
– Collaboration between universities and research institutes is very important – we complement each other in a positive way. I look forward to strengthening the existing partnerships we have with RISE but also to jointly develop new projects, for example in the audio field, where we both have activities in Piteå, says Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn, Vice-Chancellor of Luleå University of Technology.
The University and RISE want to work for increased quality in skills development, lifelong learning, research and innovation. Together, they aim for sustainable growth and increased competitiveness for both parties, as well as for society at large.
See a great potential
– As a research institute, collaboration with the academy is very important, which is why the agreement with Luleå University of Technology is a step forward for us. Together, we can better take advantage of both parties' skills to meet the societal challenges. There is great potential, for example in digitalisation and biomaterials, says Pia Sandvik, CEO of RISE.
Students at Luleå University of Technology will be able to do their degree work at RISE, which has operations in 25 locations in Sweden and also in other European countries. RISE and Luleå University of Technology will also have joint educational efforts for research students and make joint applications for funding of research projects.
