Researcher will have an impact on Robotics in Europe
George Nikolakopoulos, Professor of Robotics and AI at Luleå University of Technology, has been appointed member of the Board of Directors in euRobotics. – Becoming a member of the board is a proof of quality for our entire robotic team, George Nikolakopoulos says.
The aim of euRobotics is to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness and to ensure industrial leadership of manufacturers, providers and end-users of robotics technology-based systems and services. One of the most influential tasks of the association is to publish the Robotics Roadmap every two or three years, a document presenting a comprehensive overview of future activities in Robotics in Europe.
George Nikolakopoulos will be on the research branch of the Board of Directors. The mission is to direct and coordinate the activities of euRobotics and represent the needs and aims of the completely robotic community in Europe.
– This is a great opportunity for both the research group in Robotics and AI and for Luleå University of Technology. We get a chance to not only actively influence the future development in robotics in an European context, but also to contribute in strengthening the investments in Robotics, the awareness of the public and the general evolvement of our vibrant community, says George Nikolakopoulos.
More possibilities
George Nikolakopoulos also underlines the possibilities it will bring around for the specific subject areas addressed at Luleå University of Technology.
– I believe that it is a marvelous opportunity for us to advertise our robotic activities to the whole community, to allow our colleagues to learn more about the profile of our university, our connection to space and mining robotics, and how strong we are in the area of Field Robotics.
