The LARV fair attracted 110 companies
The labor market week LARV is usually held in January each year. The pandemic put a damper on the wheels for three years, but now the arrangement has again been carried out in the same way as before. "In 2022 we had a physical fair, but only in April. This meant that the interest from the companies became somewhat less. But now it feels great to be up and running again", says Hanna Westerberg, project manager.
Luleå labor market week, LARV, is organized by the Technology Association at Luleå University of Technology. The goal is for students to make contact with employers and for companies to meet the skills of the future. The big event is a one-day fair where the companies exhibit in booths.
"One aim is for the students to meet employers, before they are writing their ex-jobs, or if they are looking for a job during the summer, or will be interested in applying for a job", says Hanna Westerberg.
Lectures and mingle evening
It was full of activity and the buzz rose against the ceiling in the B and C building on the university campus during the fair day. A total of 110 companies participated in the fair, it was everything from technology and computer companies to Region Norrbotten.
"In addition to this fair, we also have lectures and mingle evening", says Hanna Westerberg.
Kajsa Forsberg and Sara Vestin from ABB say that the company usually participates in the fair.
- Trade fairs are important to us, we are always at LARV. We always need to recruit, in several different occupational categories, they say.
