Professor highlighted within the mining and steel industry
Marta-Lena Antti, professor of Enginering Materials at Luleå University of Technology, has been named to the 40 over 40 list. Women who work in the mining- and steel industry are highlighted by the employer organization Industriarbetsgivarna, the industry organizations Jernkontoret and Svemin, as well as the networks Metallkvinnor and Women in Mining Sweden.
"It feels good and honoring to be on this list together with so many competent women. Since I became a Head of subject, I have worked to strengthen steel research within my subject Engineering Materials, and the appointment feels like recognition that we have succeeded in this", says Marta-Lena Antti.
The list 40 over 40 contains the names of 40 women who, with their experience and knowledge, have made special efforts in their workplace.
Raises knowledge
The opportunity to nominate has been open to everyone, with the criteria that the nominees must be women, over 40 years of age and have an industry connection to the mining or steel industry.
The purpose of the list is to highlight the knowledge and professional experience that the women contribute.
The justification for Marta-Lena Antti is:
Marta-Lena is a brilliant example of a professor who collaborates with industry and other researchers in the steel and materials field. Through her enthusiasm and leadership, she shows the way towards the green material technology of the future. "
From the list of 40 women, the Fairy of the Year is selected, an award that goes to a woman who has made special contributions in or for the industry during her career. "Fe" stands for iron in the periodic table and the award will be announced on March 8 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
