About
Ivan Milovanovic's research field focuses on treatment of stormwater in area-efficient facilities. As the level of urbanization increases throughout the world, urgent need arises to make water treatment facilities in places that do not allow spacious installations and that can be retrofitted into existing city infrastructure.
Previously, Ivan has completed the master education programme at the department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Belgrade. His master thesis focused on determining the height of chute walls of the converging stepped spillways.
Ivan started his PhD-research at the urban water group in August 2017. His research work focuses on methods to examine the effectiveness of stormwater treatment systems in area-efficient facilities, both in laboratory and full-scale conditions. For example, Ivan has studied how effective a zeolite filter was in treating runoff from a copper roof. In June 2021 Ivan presented his licentiate thesis titled "Components for area-efficient stormwater treatment systems".
