Academic background
Prior to a pursuing a PhD, Thorgren earned a MSc in Business and Economics with a major in Business Administration and a MA with a major in English.
Research
Thorgren’s research is in the field of entrepreneurship. Her research investigates how individuals (entrepreneurs and employees) as well as companies deal with and act upon new opportunities of reinvention and development. Her research has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Discoveries, Business & Society, Journal of International Management, Management Learning, and Journal of Business Venturing.
Teaching
Thorgren has taught courses in organizational behavior, innovation management, entrepreneurship, and degree projects in innovation and strategic business development at the doctoral, advanced, and basic level.
