The selection is based on 20-285 credits



Course Aim

The course aims to explore and implement theories of urban development in the practical application. The course covers aspects of social, ecological and economic sustainability.

 Knowledge about

·         Theories of sustainable urban development.

·         Be able to apply various methods for the analysis of the sustainability of the urban environment at a comprehensive level.

·         National and international agreements and goals for sustainable urban development.

 Understanding of

·         Challenges to completely implement socially, ecologically and economically sustainable urban development

·         Sustainability at various levels of planning and on various scales

 Skill and ability to

·         Critically evaluate theories of sustainable urban development (seminar)

·         Carry out research findings and methodologies for sustainability analysis

·         Translating sustainability theories into planning processes and projects

·         Effectively communicate project results in a technical and professional manner, in writing, illustrations and orally


Contents

Sustainable cities, sustainable land use, infrastructure change, sustainable development. Green and blue structures. The city's overall perspective. Sustainability Discussions. Implementation of proposal of sustainable urban development.


Realization
Lectures, seminars and project work.

Examination
Active participation in seminars. Passing of oral and written presentation of project work.
