Give students basic knowledge about the structure, design and function of hydropower dams and mine tailings dams.

The aim of the course is to give the students basic knowledge about the structure, design and function of hydropower dams and mine tailings dams. Some examples of areas included in the course are hydrogeological calculations, norms and methods of analyses used by the hydropower industry, stability analyses, observations from field monitoring and factors that affect the dam safety.
