The course provides an in-depth understanding of the economics of utilizing non-renewable and renewable resources, such as minerals and forests, and of factors that affect how markets for these resources function.

This course presents theories of efficient utilization of renewable and non-renewable natural resources and discusses issues related to current practices of use of natural resources. It also looks at the policy options for promoting managing, investing in, and sustainably using natural resources.

Entry requirements:Bachelor degree or completed courses of 180 credits, of which at least 90 credits should be in Economics, with progression, with the grade Pass. The following courses should be included: Introductory Microeconomics (N0008N) 7,5 credits, Microeconomic applications (N0040N) 7,5 credits, Microeconomics, I (N0004N) 7,5 credits and Applied mathematical economics (N0005N) 7,5 credits, or equivalent. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2.
