Adobe software in the computer labs
In order to start Adobe software, such as Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign, you first need to create an account with Adobe. You can register this in the dialog box that appears when you start the software.
- Open an Adobe software
- Input your e-mail address at LTU in the login screen that appears, click Next.
- Choose company or school account.
- If a login screen for Microsoft services appears, login.
Affinity for students- Photo editing, illustrations and layout
Affinity is a series of programs for image and photo editing as well as vector graphics.
• Affinity Photo - Professional photo editing with retouching and image processing tools
• Affinity Designer - Powerful vector graphics tool
• Affinity Publisher - Intuitive layout tool for everything from posters and magazines to reports or your CV.
LTU has a comprehensive site license agreement with Serif for the Affinity software, which means that you can install it free of charge on your own computer.

Autodesk
Students at LTU have access to Autodesk software for personal, non-commercial use during their studies if you use your student mail address at LTU when creating an account with Autodesk.
Azure for students
Azure for Students is a free offer from Microsoft that provides students with access to a selection of cloud services and development tools. It includes resources for testing and building applications, working with databases, and exploring AI and machine learning. As a student, you receive a free credit of $100 per year.
Jack
A simulation and analysis tool from Siemens PLM.
After downloading and installing the software, you must also download and place the license file under C:\Program Files\Siemens\Jack_9.0\license. Please note that you need to run VPN to use the university's license off campus.
Matlab & Simulink
MATLAB, developed by MathWorks, is a powerful and versatile software platform used for numerical computation, data visualization, and programming.
Employees and students at LTU are allowed to use the software for teaching, research, and learning. The license permits installation on both LTU-owned equipment and personally owned computers. All toolboxes are included.
Installation
- Go to the Matlab-portal and select Sign in to get started under the Get MATLAB and Simulink section.
- If you do not already have a MathWorks account, click Create one below the sign-in field and follow the instructions.
- Once you have created an account and signed in, click Download for the latest release and install the software once the download is complete.
NX
NX is a CAD software used in teaching and is installed in several of our computer rooms. Here you can download and install NX on your own computer.
