Become a student ambassador
If you like meeting new people and want to be the face of the university, you can find the perfect extra work to combine with your studies. As a student ambassador, you will gain training, experience and networks that will be valuable in your future working life.
As an ambassador, you are a representative of Luleå University of Technology. This can mean that you participate in fairs and events, you can, for example, give a presentation when a high school class is visiting or visit a school and tell about the university.
Examples of assignments:
- Participate in various events, receive visitors and stand at fairs
- Give presentations and contribute with the student perspective
- Work with social media
- Create digital production and film production
- The work can be combined with studies. You sign up for the assignments that interest you and that fit your schedule
To become a student ambassador, you attend an induction session. This introduction is held regularly and during lunchtime so that it does not clash with lectures. You will also have to answer video interview questions.

Finances
Fees are paid to Student Ambassadors after completion of the assignment. Signed forms must be received by our finance department by the 1st, in order to be paid on the 25th of the same month. Therefore, make sure you leave the form with us at Student Recruitment in good time.

Travelling
Some assignments require you as a student ambassador to book a trip in order to carry out your assignment. You book the trip yourself via NEX. Information and contact details for NEX are provided by Student Recruitment. All trips must be approved by us at Student Recruitment before they are booked, and NEX keeps in touch with us.
Make sure that you always book trips well in advance in order to get as cheap a trip as possible. You should also, from a financial perspective, take into account travel options, days and times. We are a public authority and handle taxpayers' money.
The reference person is the person who gave you the assignment.
NOTE! It is possible to book both county traffic and local traffic such as buses, metro, tram. Please state this when you are in contact with the travel agency.
