Experimental learning environments
At the library in Luleå, there are two studios where students can meet to visualise their ideas, experiment, and create together. You can also search for information, write, and work with citing.
The studios are open to all students at Luleå University of Technology, regardless of field of study. Users are offered tutoring from the University Library and also learn from one another. In this way, knowledge is shared.
The purpose of the library's two studios
The University Library supports students in their learning. Through the studios, the library provides creative, experimental, and collaborative learning environments.
Studio 1 – Creative studio
Studio 1 at the University Library is a creative studio where you, as a student at Luleå University of Technology, can visualise your ideas, experiment, and create together with others to solve problems or move from idea to prototype.
Get started with studio 1
To use the room and its equipment, you or your study group need to book an introduction.

Contact the library to book an introduction.
After the introduction, you have access to:
- Materials available for course assignments and course activities for use in the room.
- Analogue tools and equipment, such as light tables, glue guns, and rulers.
- Digital tools and equipment, such as a 3D printer, drawing tablet, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Studio 1 is open and cannot be booked through TimeEdit. The room may be reserved for an introduction session. When it is not reserved, it is available for use.
Terms of use
You are responsible for ensuring that the material you create and produce in the room is not plagiarism or in violation of copyright law. You are also responsible for ensuring that the material is not dangerous or offensive and will not be used in a violent or offensive manner against other people.
Studio 2 – Presentation studio
Studio 2 at the University Library is a presentation studio where you, as a student at Luleå University of Technology, can practise presentation techniques, record with a green screen, or receive tutoring in presentation techniques. Students can book 30 minutes of tutoring in presentation skills.
In Studio 2, you can practise presentations. The room is equipped for green screen recording using your own mobile phone or camera. You can also book tutoring in presentation techniques with a teaching staff member.

Studio 2 is open and cannot be booked through TimeEdit. If you want to use Studio 2 to practise a presentation or for photography or video recording, contact the library to make a booking. Please make your booking well in advance.
The studio may be reserved for tutoring sessions or workshops. Booking information is available in the room.

You can also borrow a camera and audio recording equipment. To access all tools and resources, you or your study group need to book a studio introduction.
Register yourself or your study group at least one week before the date you would like the introduction.
