Experimental learning environments
The library in Luleå has two studios where students can meet to visualize their ideas, experiment and create together, but also search for information, write and reference. It is open to all students at Luleå University of Technology, regardless of their specialization. Users are offered guidance from the university library but also learn from each other, thus sharing knowledge.
The purpose of the library's two studios
The University Library aims at supporting students in their learning process. Our studios offer a creative, experimental and collaborative learning environment.
Studio 1 – Creative studio

Studio 1 at the University Library is a creative studio where you as a student at Luleå University of Technology can visualize your ideas, experiment and create together with others to solve problems or go from problem to prototype.
Get started with studio 1
To use the room and the technology available there, you or your study group book an introduction.
Contact the library to book an introduction.
After completing the introduction, we offer:
- Materials freely available for course assignments and course elements for use in the room.
- Analog tools and equipment: for example: light table, glue guns, rulers, etc.
- Digital tools and equipment: for example: 3D printer, drawing tablet, Creative Cloud.
Studio 1 is open accessible and not available for booking via TimeEdit. The room can be booked for introduction, but if it is available you are free to use it.
Terms of use
You are responsible for ensuring that the material you create and produce in the room is not plagiarism or in violation of copyright law. You are also responsible for ensuring that the material is not dangerous or offensive and will not be used in a violent or offensive manner against other people.
Studio 2 – Presentation studio

Studio 2 at the university library is a presentation studio where you as a student at Luleå University of Technology can practice presentation technique, record with a green screen or have a tutorial in presentation technique. Students can book tutoring in presentation technique 30 min.
In studio 2 there is the opportunity to practice presentations and in the room there is also equipment to use green screen with the help of a mobile phone or camera. You can also book tutoring with a tutor in presentation techniques.
Studio 2 is openly available and not bookable via TimeEdit.
If you want to book studio 2 to practice a presentation or for a photo shoot or video shoot you can contact us for a booking. Do this is a timely manner.
The room can also be booked for tutorials and workshops. There is a sign in the room if it is booked.

It is also possible to borrow a camera and technology for audio recording. To get access to all the tools and resources, you or your study group should book a studio introduction.
