Group rooms, study spaces and equipment

The library offers different study environments to suit different needs. There are group rooms, group work areas, individual study seats, and a quiet study area.

Luleå

Study spaces

There are many study spaces for both groups and individual students. On the entrance level, there are computers where you sign in with your LTU account. There is also a computer for database searching.

Food and drinks

• Eating hot meals, salads, or sandwiches is not allowed in the library.
• Fruit and water are allowed throughout the library.
• Coffee breaks are allowed on the entrance level.
• Only water and fruit are allowed on the lower level.

Group rooms for students

Group rooms are booked through the room booking system TimeEdit. You can book up to 16 hours per two-week period. The room must be used within 15 minutes of the booking start time. Otherwise, the booking is cancelled and the room may be used by others. More information is available in the booking system.

Quiet study area

The lower level is a quiet zone. Group work must take place in group rooms. The silent reading room must remain completely quiet. Conversations, group work, and mobile phone use are not allowed.

Studios

The library has two studios:

• One studio for visualising ideas, experimenting, and working together.
• One studio for practising presentation skills and creating digital stories.

Archive room

Room 9 is intended for reading archive material. The room has a computer with access to the Swedish Newspapers database. The room cannot be booked. If you are reading archive material or using the database, you have priority.

Wi-Fi

Students and staff can connect via Eduroam. This also applies if you are a student or employee at another Swedish university or higher education institution. Other visitors can obtain a guest account from the terminal in the library. Login details are sent to your mobile phone. You can connect your computer to the wireless network. A wired network connection is also available.

Equipment

There are two photocopiers and printers on the entrance level near the entrance. All group rooms are equipped with a large screen. You can share content wirelessly from a computer or mobile device. Up to four devices can be connected at the same time.

Piteå

Group rooms

There are three group rooms for 4 to 7 people. The rooms are booked through TimeEdit.

Listening equipment

One of the group rooms is equipped with devices for older formats, such as LP records, CDs, cassette tapes, MiniDisc, and DAT. The library also provides student computers and study spaces.
