
Group rooms, study spaces and equipment
We provide a good study environment for students by offering different types of environments for different needs. Group rooms, group workplaces, individual reading places and a quiet area.
Luleå
Study places
There are many study places in the library, both for groups and individuals. We have one place with a computer on the entrance floor where you log in with your LTU user.
We also have a computer for searching databases on the entrance floor near the entrance.
Nowhere in the library is it allowed to eat food, salad or sandwiches.
On the entrance floor it is allowed to have a coffee.
Water and fruit are allowed in the whole library.
Group rooms for students
You book the rooms in the booking system TimeEdit.
You can book 16 hours/2-week period. You must use the room within fifteen minutes from the start time of the booking, otherwise your booking will expire. The room can then be used by others. More information is available in the booking system.
Quiet area
Downstairs is a more quiet area. There is also a silent reading room. No group activities, conversations or mobile phones are allowed.
Only water and fruit are allowed downstairs.
Studios
There are two studios in the library. One where you can visualize your ideas, experiment and create with others and one where you can practice presentation skills and create digital stories. Read more about our studios below:
Archive room
Room 9 is intended for reading archive material. There is also a computer in the room where you can access the database Svenska dagstidningar. The room is not bookable, but if you want to read archive material or access the database, you have priority.
Wifi
Students and employees use Eduroam. Students and employees at other universities and colleges in Sweden can also access wireless internet via Eduroam. Others can have a guest user sent to their mobile phone via the terminal at the library.
Your own computer can be connected to the wireless network. It is also possible to connect your own computer to the fixed network.
Equipment
There are two copy machines/printers.
All group rooms are equipped with a large screen. You can share wirelessly from your own computer/mobile to it. Four devices can be connected simultaneously.

Students and employees use Eduroam. Students and employees at other universities and colleges in Sweden can also access wireless internet via Eduroam. Others can get a guest user.
Group rooms
The library has three group rooms for 4–7 people, which are booked via link below.
Listening equipment
In one of the group rooms there is a listening equipment for older formats, LP, CD, cassette tape, Minidisc and DAT.
The library also has several student computers and reading places.
