When the whole heart is involved
The purpose of the R&D project is to 1) develop forms of collaboration between the academy and the business and contribute knowledge about the effects of the development work carried out during the current period and 2) implement and quality assure the developed collaboration model between the business and the academy, and carry out operational research based on the work teams' own identified areas based on the previous academic year's evaluation and analysis.
Who are we?
Kalix municipality: Helena Öhman principal Töreskolan: Elisabeth Karlsson school developer Kalix municipality; Ann-Kristin Karlsson Drugge process manager and first teacher Töreskolan.
LTU: Åsa Gardelli, assistant professor of education with a focus on special education, researcher and research support in the initiative. Kattis Edström and Björn Emmoth will also participate as well as researchers in special education.
The area for R&D practice-oriented research
Töreskolan is a preschool class to year 6 unit in a multicultural area in Kalix municipality. Future R&D collaboration builds on previous experience of health-promoting school development and includes all parts of the operation. Already today, there is a collaboration model between the academy and the business at the organizational level and within the framework of R&D, this work will be further implemented, tested and evaluated in order to strengthen participation as well as development competence and scientific competence at both the school unit and LTU.
Purpose of the project
R&D collaboration will be carried out at the steering group level with the aim of developing forms of cooperation between the academy and the business and contributing knowledge about the effects of the development work carried out during the current time period.
At the operational level, the purpose is to implement and quality assure the developed collaboration model between the business and the academy during the 2019/20 academic year, and during the 2020/21 academic year to carry out operational research based on the work teams' own identified areas based on the previous academic year's evaluation and analysis.
Implementation and documentation
At the steering group level, the work will consist of joint planning, follow-up, analysis and follow-up research of the development process.
At the operational level, the work is combined between knowledge acquisition, supervision/collaboration between work teams at the school and staff from the academy AND a doctoral student from the PROFS research school.
Dissemination of results
Throughout the process there is transparency via Töreskolan's Facebook page where the work is continuously presented via pictures and short informative text. The work is presented via planned Aim days and study visits by student teachers and other schools. The final work will consist of a research report that presents the steering group's ongoing research and the work teams' operational research. In collaboration with researchers, scientific/popular science articles will be published. Dissemination will also take place through students' degree projects as well as via the university's web.
