On the course sound art and design, students learn to shape and reflect on their visions of sound. The course ends with a sound exhibition at the Academy of Music in Piteå at Luleå University of Technology. One of the exhibitors in 2023 was Lina Dovner.
Erik Westberg and Niklas Sivelöv, both teachers at the School of Music in Piteå at Luleå University of Technology, are recognized in the magazine Opus' list of artists, composers and organizations that have distinguished themselves in the year 2022.
Erik Westberg's Vocal Ensemble has been awarded funds of SEK 982,000 from the JC Kempe and Seth M. Kempe Foundations for a period of three years starting on January 1, 2023.
Erik Weissglas, university lecturer and guitar teacher at The Piteå School of Music at Luleå University of Technology, has been appointed as a jury member in the Albin Hagström memorial fund managed by the Royal Academy of Music.
Today's technology makes it possible for musicians to play instruments and with musicians who are on the other side of the globe. An artistic research project at Luleå University of Technology examines how the music and the interaction between musicians are affected by the new technological possibilities.
