Through the University Library, you have access to a large number of databases where you can find, among other things, books, journals, articles, sheet music, and audio files. Some databases contain full-text references.

Access to the databases
When you are at Luleå University of Technology, you can access all content in the databases automatically, but if you are elsewhere, you must access the database via the library's web and log in with your LTU user. You have an LTU user if you are a student or employee at Luleå University of Technology.
If you do not have an LTU user, you can only access the databases on site at the library, on your own or on one of the library's computers, after generating a code that you can get on a special iPad at the library.
Terms of use for e-resources
Luleå University Library has license agreements with several different suppliers and publishers of electronic resources. These agreements set rules for how the resources may be used.
Rules for use of electronic media
- No agreement allows commercial use.
- Copying or downloading is only allowed for personal use. Copying includes electronic copies.
- You may distribute single copies of articles to third-party colleagues for research purposes.
- You may incorporate parts of the material in electronic Course or Study Packs, by linking to the material.
- All other copying/downloading needs permission from the publisher.
- You must read the copyright information provided by some suppliers/publishers in connection to the resources.
- You must provide the source to printed or copied material.
It is not allowed to:
- Systematically copying or downloading a whole journal issue or a whole book.
- Selling or redistributing copyright material, by publishing on the Internet or sending the material outside of Luleå University of Technology.
- Changing, distorting or plagiarizing the material.
