The ski and snow lab
Luleå University of Technology, in partnership with the Swedish Olympic Committee, has established a unique collaboration focusing on technological research for performance development in sports. The collaboration is centred on three main areas: sports technology, performance technology and analysis, and material optimisation. The Ski and Snow Laboratory includes a new measurement facility and a workshop for ski waxing and grinding at Lindbäcksstadion in Piteå, as well as operations at several laboratories on the university campus in Luleå. The waxing teams for the national biathlon and cross-country skiing teams are part of this initiative and have access to the facilities.
