Investigation of wear mechanisms
Olofsfors works in developing, manufacturing and sales within two different business areas, tracks for forestry machines and wear steel for construction machines. Most of the products are in hardened boron steel.
This is the second development project that CHS implements together with Olofsfors. Olofsfors see a need to examine the wear mechanisms arising from the use of their tape products (link and link hook). The purpose of this analysis is to develop a standardized test method that simulates the wear mechanisms that are exposed to real components. Olofsfors are interested in a next step to proceed with the development of the tribological test method and conduct tests to validate the results from analyzing the real band components.
Investigation of wear on existing products will be performed to determine wear mechanisms from the use of the products.
The goal of this project is to determine the wear mechanisms from the use of products. Based on the results suggest an appropriate method for tribological test that mimics the outcome of the real load, based on the analysis of used components.
