Electricity system feasibility study
By industrializing and systematizing electrical installations for industrially manufactured wooden houses, it enables the transfer of processes from the construction site to a factory. This brings increased safety, increased predictability and reduced impact of weather. It also enables a new business logic based on industrializing the construction process. This means looking at processes and structures with new perspectives.
The Swedish industrial wooden house manufacturers that have a product strategy for industrially manufactured electrical systems can choose to be responsible for:
- Establishing and ensuring compliance with their own self-inspection program through industrial processes and that the electrical installation work is carried out according to the applicable regulations.
- Developing and ensuring the competence of those carrying out work on behalf of the company.
The production strategy for an industrial manufacturer of wooden houses then involves bringing production in-house, thus enabling the balancing of resources in production and avoiding watertight thinking between different professional groups. It also provides an opportunity for innovation in terms of product development together with supply chain actors but also to digitalize and automate both the production and management process.
There are challenges partly because the law is relatively new and it is unclear to what extent the application of the law has been tested and realized in reality. This may create inertia throughout the value chain when it comes to implementing such a production strategy.
Systematic literature review and search in publication databases show that there is very little new research published in Sweden since 2017 in the area. This indicates that there is a need to continue exploring the area.
