The results of the project show that the indicator has been able to predict with good precision whether the harvest is suitable for products for the Japanese market. Of the eight test harvests that were made, seven of these with an outcome of between 93 - 99% laminar quality in the timber grading within the specific dimensional range in which the product is taken out. So less than 7% failed to meet the Japanese requirements.
This can be compared with the outcome in 2020 without control using the indicator. There the outcome was 74%, which means that with the help of the indicator, the desired wood properties can be enriched. The project has been so successful that the results are used today to control the processing in our felling so that the preparation in the forest better matches the customer wishes that the sawmill has to take into account.
