Prior learning
If you do not have a formal qualification for a course, you may still be able to obtain a qualification by applying for prior learning. The university will assess your overall knowledge and experience to determine whether they meet the requirements for the program.
What is prior learning?
Prior learning refers to your accumulated knowledge and experience that you may have acquired in different ways, for example through work, voluntary activities, or courses.
You can apply to have your prior learning assessed for both general and specific entry requirements.
Luleå University of Technology does not use tests or interviews in the assessment. If your prior learning is approved, you will be considered eligible, but you will not receive any additional merit points or priority in admission.
If you are missing a specific upper secondary course, you can visit the Swedish National Agency for Education’s website to review the course objectives. Based on these objectives, you can describe how you have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways.
