LTU card
You need an LTU card for entry through doors and for copying and printing.
You must be a registered student to get a card.
Get a card
As a program student, you will receive your LTU card during the introduction day.
This is how it works:
- Bring a valid photo ID (ID card, driving license, passport).
- You will be photographed.
- You get the card in your hand.
- Activate the card and choose a four-digit PIN code on the account portal.
If you have not received a card or are studying independent courses, you should bring a valid ID and visit the Service Point at your place of study.
Activate the card or change the PIN code
You activate your card or change your PIN code by logging in to the account portal.
Update your card
You no longer need to come to Service Point to update your card. It is done automatically when you have an active student user and have registered for a course on Ladok.
If you need to extend access to certain premises, more information regarding this is found further down on the page.
Functions of the card
Access card. On all university campuses, the LTU card is used for passage through exterior doors, in the evenings and weekends, and for passage through certain interior doors. A personal numerical code is required. You can also use the card to identify yourself as a student for security guards.
Printing and copying. The LTU-card is not needed for printing, but it makes logging into the printers easier.
LTU card for distance students
As a distance student, you do not have to get an LTU card. If you visit a place of study, it may be good to get an LTU card during the first day if you want to be able to use the print service (costs apply) or enter through any doors after 16:30.
Card access for a lab or other rooms
If you need access to a room, classroom or lab, your teacher must make a request and submit it to Service Point. In the request the teacher needs to fill in the cardnumber on the card along with your student username. To make a request, the teacher can use the link below here.
