Information for invited guests
Welcome to the Academic Ceremony at Kulturens hus in Luleå city centre on 9 November 2024. The ceremony is followed by a banquet at the university campus. Last day to register is 30 September.
Invitation and registration
The invitation is sent out at the beginning of September and the deadline for registration is 30 September 2024.
After registration, you will receive a receipt to your e-mail (if it does not reach your inbox, check your spam folder) together with a code. The code is your ticket to Kulturens hus and the banquet. Present the receipt with the entry code at the respective entrance, either via mobile or printout.
If you are a guest at the ceremony and banquet for a new doctor, honorary doctor, professor, adjunct professor or award recipient, your registration including entry code is handled via them.
If you only attend the ceremony in Kulturens hus as an extra guest of a new doctor, honorary doctor, professor, adjunct professor or award recipient, they must register you via akademiskhogtid@ltu.se to get your entry code.
Ceremony
The ceremony starts at 16.00 in the main hall (stora salen) of Kulturens hus, Saturday 9 November. You shall have taken your seat no later than 15.45, when the doors close. Seating is free, except for reserved seats at the front for, among others, award recipients, award presenters and guests of the honorary doctors.
As the procession enters the hall, entrance music is played and the guests stand up. The ceremony takes about two hours.
Live streaming
We plan to livestream the ceremony in Kulturens hus. The camera will be directed towards the stage from the back of the hall. The audience will not be filmed. The live stream will not be available for later viewing.
Banquet
After the ceremony, there are free buses for the banquet guests to the university campus where the banquet is held at the restaurant STUK. The banquet begins with mingling and is followed by a three-course dinner with drinks and coffee, entertainment, and speeches.
Dinner is usually finished around 23.00 and after that, everyone is invited to dance. The restaurant STUK is then open for other guests. A link to purchase after-party tickets will be provided later.
Dress code
The dress code for banquet guests is tailcoat or dark suit alternatively a long dress or a two-piece garment with a long skirt. A white vest and a white bow tie are worn with the tailcoat. For guests who only attend the ceremony in Kulturens hus, a proper outfit is fine.
Photography
Own photography during the ceremony in Kulturens hus is permitted from the respective seat. Avoid noisy or bulky cameras.
The university's photographers will take pictures during the ceremony and the mingling. The images may be published on, for example, the university's website and social media.
Cancellations
Any cancellations must be notified as soon as possible to akademiskhogtid@ltu.se. Cancellations for paying banquet guests later than one week before the banquet will not be refunded.
