Expertise in mineralogy and advanced microanalytical characterization of geological samples to support decision-making in mineral exploration/extraction/environment/metal recycling/climate change mitigation. Analytical techniques typically used are SEM-EDS/WDS, Automated Mineralogy, EPMA, LA ICP MS, XCT, XRF.

Expertise in x-ray microtomography (XCT, microCT) for 3D/4D imaging and material characterisation. Studies cover materials such as minerals, metals, wood and cellulose-based materials, polymer composites, powders and granular materials, and include quantitative analysis of microstructure and internal features (grains, fibers, voids, defects etc), deformation and strain (using DVC).
Expertise in characterization of metallic materials. Microstructural characterization (LOM, SEM, SEM-EBSD), fractography, failure investigations (SEM) and sample preparation.
Extensive experience in a wide range of experimental methods and imaging techniques, with special expertise in x-ray microtomography (XCT, microCT). The studies cover materials such as minerals, metals, wood and bio-composites, powders and granular materials, and characterisation using 3D/4D absorption- and phase-contrast XCT and quantitative analysis of internal features.
Expertise in materialography where microstructures or fracture surfaces in materials are investigated to understand their properties after appropriate sample preparation. Common techniques used are LOM, SEM-EDS/EDX and EBSD.
I specialize in the multi-modal and multi-dimensional micro-analytical characterization of geomaterials. My expertise is in workflow design and correlation of various micro-analytical techniques (e.g., SEM-EDS/WDS, X-CT, μXRF, LA-ICP-MS, Automated Mineralogy), with particular proficiency in SEM imaging and EDS/WDS.
My expertise includes SEM operation for extreme analysis conditions, microstructure characterization of ultra-thin films and nanoparticles, and phase and elemental analysis.
