Research subjects

Research subjects are organisational units for the employment of academic staff. Within the research subjects, research and doctoral education are conducted, and they also provide the competence base for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The guideline for establishment, review and discontinuation of research subjects describes the criteria, process, and application template. The guideline for the evaluation of research subjects forms part of the quality assurance system and highlights the activities within each subject. Evaluations are carried out in three-year cycles, with the next round scheduled for 2026.
