Getting started
Before you start your thesis, you must have the required prior knowledge. In each course syllabus you will find the exact requirements for starting the degree project.
When you have a good proposal for a thesis, you should submit the form "Application for thesis" together with a clear description of the work including a rough timetable. If you want to discuss your proposal before submitting a full application, you can contact the course contact person, also the responsible course leader (see the respective course plan).
Confidentiality in degree projects
The main rule for degree projects at LTU is that these in their entirety must be openly published and available for everyone to take part in.
If the company/organisation has informed you that they wish to classify information in your degree project as confidential, the company/organisation must submit this form "Request for confidentiality" to the registrar (registrator@ltu.se).

For a degree project where a request for confidentiality has been submitted, only abstracts will be published in DiVA. If someone wants to read a confidential degree project, it can be requested and will then be subject to a confidentiality assessment.
The university never signs a confidentiality agreement (neither through the head of department, supervisor nor examiner) when students are to carry out a degree project. However, as a student, you can sign a confidentiality agreement on your own behalf against a company or an organisation, which is an agreement that the university has neither insight into nor responsibility for.

Presentation and opposition

If the course is not there, it is probably because the registration and organization of presentation and opposition is done in another way. In that case, contact the course contact person according to the course plan.
The presentation registration is sent by your examiner/internal supervisor to edusrt@ltu.se Edusrt schedules the presentations and also assigns opponents to each presentation. Edusrt then sends out the reports to the opponents. The schedule is ready no later than 4 days after the last registration day.
Approval
Use the form Approval of thesis where your supervisor fills in that you have participated in the compulsory elements and grades the course.
Registration and publication
Before grades are registered, the thesis must be registered and published on DiVA.
Printing
The department pays for printing for 1 copy for the author. Use the order form for printing of the thesis pdf, 64 kB.
Degree
Remember to apply for a degree when you have finished your education. You do this on "My LTU" under degree. There are instructions to follow.
