Disciplinary Board
The Disciplinary Board deals with cases of cheating in examinations and disruptive behavior, as well as violations based on gender, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs, sexual orientation or disability.
Being reported to the Disciplinary Board for cheating, for harassing someone or for behaving in a way that disrupts or hinders the activities of the university can have serious consequences for your studies and for you as a person.
The Disciplinary Board can issue a warning, but can also decide to suspend you from all activities at the University for up to six months. A suspension decision means that you are not allowed to attend classes or take exams. You are also not entitled to any form of supervision and you are not allowed to submit assignments for correction. You will also be excluded from receiving student finance during the suspension period. A notice of suspension is sent to the Central Board of Student Finance.
The Disciplinary Board consists of the Rector as chairman, a representative from the teaching staff, student representatives and a legally experienced member with experience as a judge. The handling of disciplinary cases is regulated in Chapter 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Decisions on suspension can be appealed to the Administrative Court in Luleå.
