Assessment of iron oxide stabilization of arsenic contaminated soil
Iron oxides have been proposed as a remediation technique for stabilizing arsenate in CCA (chromate, copper and arsenate) contaminated soils.
For this to be successful, studies are needed to establish under which conditions the formed complexes are stable. The stability of As(V) complexes adsorbed on synthetic iron oxide films is studied using in situ ATR-FTIR adsorption experiments.
