Enhanced Sustainability of Built Environment by Collaboration and Digitalization - ESBE
ESBE is a cooperation project between Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Umeå University and Luleå University of Technology. Through cooperation, we will investigate and test opportunities for actors at the local level to take advantage of modern digital solutions and life-cycle methods to support sustainable and green growth in the built environment.
The division of Industrialized and sustainable construction's work in the project focuses on identifying opportunities and challenges to benefit from state-of-the-art digital solutions for sustainable urban development in a real-life planning situation. The central theme of the work is how the tools and methods that digitalisation has brought with it can support better collaboration between the municipality and private construction actors in the early development and planning of housing development projects. The work is based on a case study of ongoing planning and development of the Kronan area, which is run by Luleå municipality. The expected result is a synthesis of the opportunities and applicability of modern digital solutions in real work situations.
The project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund through Interreg Nord, focus area Culture and Environment.
