DUS – Digital Ultrasound
The project explores and develops thin ultrasound arrays, with associated electronics, suitable for placement on the outermost phalanx of a finger. Communication with and control of the ultrasound array takes place wirelessly from a mobile phone or a laptop where the interface can be easily adapted depending on the person conducting the examination. The technology is primarily intended to be used by healthcare personnel in sparsely populated areas. The project is a collaboration between Luleå University of Technology, Umeå University and the Centre for Rural Medicine in Storuman.
