Post-Graduate studies on Energy Engineering
The postgraduate studies in Energy Engineering are designed so as to enable the doctoral students to acquire both specialist knowledge and broad subject knowledge. On completion of the degree of licentiate, the doctoral students should be prepared for both research and development assignments. On completion of the degree of doctor, the doctoral students should be able independently to conduct research or development activities in industry or academia.
The postgraduate studies consist of two part, courses and thesis work. The degree of licentiate comprises 120 credit points and the degree of doctor 240 credit points, 60 credit points corresponding to one year’s full-time study. The thesis work consists of research work and presentation and publication of research results. Of the total work for the degree of doctor, the thesis work should amount to between 150 and 180 credit points. For the degree of licentiate, the thesis work should amount to between 75 and 90 credit points.
Students intending to take the degree of doctor are recommended to the take the degree of licentiate first.
