Innovative high wood residential buildings
Wooden based residential buildings have steadily increased in popularity over a number of years, and today they are often built with 4-8 floors. In the industry there is a demand to build "real" high-rise buildings in wood, visionary over 20 floors.
In this TCN (Wood Centre North)-funded project LTU - Acoustics take part to develop CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) constructions to enable high wooden buildings that meet the requirements in terms of sound insulation and dynamic stability.
Within the project there is a unique opportunity to carry out sound and vibration measurements on a four room test-house which is completely built inside a large factory hall. In the test-house measurements are conducted to verify the various design solutions.
