Rotor vibrations
Milling and other turning operations are common in the automotive and aerospace industry where large metal work pieces are reduced to a fraction of its original weight, forming complex thin structures.
It is of great importance that unwanted behaviour like tool vibrations that causes poor surface finish and/or material damage can be avoided during these operations. This issue is currently studied in a Vinnova financed cooperation project between three departments at Luleå university of technology and SKF nova in Gothenburg.
