Call for Abstracts, Master Classes and Special Sessions
We are delighted to invite you to the 9th IAHR Europe Congress, Innovating Hydro-Environment Engineering for a Sustainable Future: Arctic Waters and Beyond in Luleå, Sweden, 9-12 of June 2026. This gathering brings together leading minds, researchers, and professionals dedicated to advancing hydro-environment engineering and exploring sustainable solutions for our planet's most critical water challenges. The submission system for abstracts & master class proposals is now open until the 30th of November, 2025. For special sessions it closes 15th of November, 2025
Abstract Submission
You are most welcome to submit your work as an extended abstract with maximum 2 pages for consideration as an oral presentation or poster during the congress. Submissions should fall within the scope of one of the four central themes of the conference. All abstracts must be submitted via EasyChair using the Abstract Template provided on the congress homepage. For detailed instructions on the abstract submission, see the following page:
Master Classes
We invite proposals for master classes to be held as part of the pre-conference programme on 8th of June, the day before the start of the official Congress. Proposals are welcome from all Congress themes and subthemes, and submissions from organisers of all levels of seniority are encouraged. Proposals need to be submitted via mail by November 30th, 2025. Please follow the instructions and use the provided template:
Special Sessions
The Congress offers the opportunity for institutions, consortia or individual conveners to organise special sessions around a distinct topic. Proposals for special sessions should follow the instructions and template and be submitted via the conference mail by November 15th, 2025. Special sessions can be formed with only invited speakers or make an open call for abstracts, which will be published after the approval of the special session by NOC and ISC.
