In this project we work collaboratively with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences to develop methods for automatic extraction and transport of biomass in terrain; a crucially needed success factor to enable tomorrow's circular bioeconomy.
To enable Sweden’s bioeconomy transition, there is a need for increased supply of biomass. A major challenge is to increase the competitiveness in the value chain, and to enabe minimal environmental impact and improved social conditions. This project contributes to the logistics innovations required to meet the increased demands on biomass from bioindustry and society. The project focus on solutions for automated transport of forest biomass, to increase the efficiency in loading and transportation work. Focus will be on the primary production and off-road transports, but since biomass transports are similar through the value chain, the results will also contribute to increased automation in production, storage and rest flow handling.
