Sustainable Intelligent Mining Systems, SIMS
SIMS aimed to develop, test and demonstrate new innovative technologies for mining.
Our part of the project was to investigate miners' acceptance of new technologies, especially new communication devices and positioning techniques. Our work included interviews with miners at Boliden and a survey of miners at LKAB and KGHM (Poland). We also summarized relevant theories and developed guidelines for the industry, which were published as three book chapters.
