Zero-SWARM
The Zero-SWARM project, initiated in June 2022, aims to revolutionize European manufacturing by integrating advanced 5G technologies. Its goal is to create a climate-neutral, digitized production landscape using an innovative, multidisciplinary approach.
This involves developing an open swarm framework, a private 5G network, and digital twins, thereby breaking the isolation of separate technologies like 5G, cloud-edge continuum, and operational technology to foster co-creation through 10 experimental trials.
In Zero-SWARM project, LTU participates in the development of technologies for auto-discovery and reconfiguration of systems on IEC 61499, data streaming from IEC 61499 to cloud services, develops extensions to the IEC 61499 for supporting the dynamicity of CPSoS models and seamless operation with the semantically tagged information and knowledge. A separate research focus is the development of security solutions for reconfigurable distributed control systems. The solutions under development are also integrated into the FBME IDE for IEC 61499. The developed solutions are also being tested on an industrial prototype Processing station.
