Inclusive innovation in intersections
A practical guide for inclusive innovation processes – where intersections between different competencies, organisations and industries are harnessed – has been developed in collaboration between Luleå University of Technology, Piteå Science Park and RISE.
The background to the collaboration is the gap identified in innovation processes and innovation systems, where most of those involved are men in male-dominated professions, companies and industries. This gap hinders the ambition to achieve sustainable regional development, with attractive living and working environments. This requires that all people's skills and creativity are utilized, regardless of gender, background, disabilities, etc.
Previous research at Luleå University of Technology shows that there are inclusive potentials in intersections between different competencies, organisations and industries, which has been used in the model development to create synergy effects between the gender-balanced area of cultural and creative industries and the male-dominated areas of IT and energy and environmental technology.
The collaboration has developed a roadmap to guide inclusive innovation efforts at the intersection of different competences, organisations and sectors.
Model for inclusive innovation
In the collaboration, a model has been developed to guide initiatives for inclusive innovation at the intersections between different competencies, organisations and industries.
