Information Security
Information security is about managing risks that unintentionally affects information contained in and provided by information systems, the technology and infrastructure we use and rely on. Whether it be at home, at work, or in society at large.
About us
We explore the interaction between technology and society to create robust and resilient systems. Our work is based on a socio-technical approach, where processes, systems, technology, and people are integrated to manage risks and disruptions in an increasingly digitalized world.
What is socio-technical information security?
Socio-technical information security is about combining technical and human perspectives to create sustainable solutions. We don’t view technology and people as separate entities, but as interwoven components of a whole. Guided by the key concepts of processes, systems, technology, and people, we work to:
- Build resilient systems that can withstand stress and disruption.
- Strengthen inter-organizational collaboration and information sharing.
- Explore the role of emerging technologies in security and risk management.
Research that makes a difference
We conduct research that combines theory and practice to create tangible societal value. Some of our main focus areas include:
- Critical infrastructure: Security and continuity in essential societal functions such as energy, transport, and communication.
- Resilience and risk management: Strategies to prevent, manage, and recover from disruptions.
- Human and technical factors: How the interaction between technology and people affects security.
Collaborate with us
We believe in the power of collaboration and invite researchers, organizations, and companies to work with us. Together, we can develop innovative solutions for the future of information security.
