About Wood and bionanocomposites
Advanced materials from various renewable raw materials, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and chitin, have enormous potential for the development of new environmentally friendly materials and applications. We are interested in developing energy-efficient process methods for producing nanocellulose and nanochitin while maintaining high quality, developing scalable manufacturing processes for biocomposites and developing new carbon nanomaterials from renewable sources such as lignin. We are exploring the potential of these new materials for applications in biomedicine, advanced electronics, high-performance structures, bio-based packaging, energy storage, membrane filtration and pollution capture.
